OIJ in line with the Y20 2018 task force agenda, proposes the organization of a Y20 Side Event titled “Public Sector Dialogue”, conceived as a forum for political collaboration to establish pathways for global action and cooperation
in favour of youth development.

The Event will address issues related to the international youth agenda, based on a holistic approach to public youth policies, with particular emphasis on the Future of Work and Youth Employment as one of the central topics.
The topics are deeply connected with the Task Forces that young delegates will discuss during the Y20 2018 Summit.

Agenda

The Side Event will address issues related to the international youth agenda, based on a holistic approach to public youth policies, with particular emphasis on the Future of Work and Youth Employment as one of the central topics.
The topics are deeply connected with the Task Forces that young delegates will discuss during the Y20 2018 Summit.

Participants of the Side Event will, therefore, be called upon to address the following thematic pillars from a social innovation methodology standpoint and based on dialogue, exchange of experiences and collective action.Outputs from this event will enrich the conversation of young delegates during the Y20 2018 Summit.

Goals

Generate conclusions and insights to foster the discussion of young delegates during the Y20 2018 Summit, ensuring a true dialog between young civil society and public sector.
Establish a scenario for analysis of the future of work implications, from the gubernamental role perspective and youth public policies to facilitate the insertion of young people into the labour market.
Collaboratively build a mechanism for digital interaction, through a digital hub (in this case, the Social Innovation Warehouse), which will allow the exchange of good practices among the governments of developed countries, helping them face the challenges the Future of Work will entail.
Contribute to the dialogue between industrialised countries (shared strategies through international cooperation) and the private sector, focusing on the achievement of SDG Goal 8.
Strengthen the International Alliance for Youth Cooperation, to expand and improve sustainable development strategies based on the social inclusion of young people.
